Resident Evil 2 contains a fully playable version of Chris Redfield's character model from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Modders have been poking around in the survival horror revamp and discovered that Claire's ex-S.T.A.R.S. sibling is hidden among the game's innards. It's not too surprising, seeing as how both games share the same engine, although it's not known at this point if Chris will actually be made playable in the conventional way.

It's worth pointing out that Chris was playable in the original Resident Evil 2, albeit in the Extreme Battle Mode that shipped with the DualShock version of the game.

Interestingly, the model isn't perfect. Chris' weapons follow him along the ground when they're holstered, so there's obviously a few bugs present.

Resident Evil 2 is getting a free batch of DLC next month in the shape of some '98 skins for Leon and Claire, plus the new Ghost Survivors mode. Read VideoGamer's verdict on the spruced up horror romp here.
