Tripwire Interactive has announced that Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is to see its release date shifted back by two weeks – in the US this means a September 13, 2011 launch, while the UK retail release by Lace Mamba is yet to be confirmed.

Tripwire said of the delay: “While we understand the fans are clamouring to get their hands on the game, we felt we needed the extra two weeks to get it right and add the extra polish the game (and the players) deserve.”

Red Orchestra 2 will focus on the Battle of Stalingrad and the surrounding operations, both German and Russian, from July 1942 to February 1943. The game consists of two campaigns: the Red Army and German missions.

We’re promised unrivalled accuracy and attention to detail, along with gritty combat in multiplayer, co-op and solo modes.
