THQ has announced it will release a new Red Faction game during its fiscal year 2011 – April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011 – with the game to be shown at E3 later this year.
“In fiscal 2011, we plan to ship two major core games. Homefront and a sequel to our Red Faction franchise,” said THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell during the publisher’s Q3 earnings call last night.
“We … plan to launch a high-quality sequel to Red Faction in fiscal 2011. Building on their innovative destruction engine, our team at Volition is delivering a quality sequel in the Red Faction universe that will include robust online gameplay,” he added.
“We look forward to showing you why we’re excited about these games at E3 this June.”
The other game Farrell was referring too was Homefront, a first-person shooter from Frontlines developer Kaos Studios.
