Rockstar Games has revealed that it is working on a fix for a notorious Red Dead Redemption 2 bug that causes members of your gang to mysteriously disappear from camp.

Players have been reporting over the past week or so that a number of Arthur Morgan's pals, such as Sadie Alder and John Marston, have vanished during Red Dead 2's second chapter. However, Rockstar's now identified the problem and is working to iron out the issue.

'If you completed the mission ‘Polite Society, Valentine Style’ at the start of Chapter 2, but needed to use the Retry Checkpoint feature, then Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail will only appear in camp when they have missions for you to complete,' said the developer. 'We are aware of the issue and are currently working on a fix to be included in an upcoming Title Update.'

Rockstar hasn't confirmed when the next update will roll out, though it has provided details on a workaround for the issue in the meantime.

'In order to experience all vignettes and conversations, players must complete the "Polite Society, Valentine Style" mission without using Retry Checkpoint. If the player fails any portion of the mission they should abandon and restart mission, or load a save before the mission failed.'

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, and Colm reckons you'd do well to lasso yourself a copy asap. The game has already been a huge success, pulling in a whopping $725 million in its opening weekend.

While Rockstar's cowboy-'em-up has tons of things to do in its sprawling open-world, the only thing Josh really wanted to do at the end of the day was to take a nice bath.
