Rockstar Games has confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be fully playable from a first-person perspective.

The upcoming Wild West-flavoured prequel will apparently be taking a leaf out of Grand Theft Auto 5's book, which received a first-person view for its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One remaster back in 2014.

First-person mode is one of three viewpoints playable in the sprawling cowboy-'em-up, the others being the standard third-person perspective and a cinematic camera, according to Polygon.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is due out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26. Colm recently caught up with Resero's Rich Walker, who recently played a bit of Red Dead 2, and yelled some questions at him about the game.

Earlier today, Rockstar confirmed the first details on Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode, Red Dead Online, which is due out in November.
