Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC on November 5, 2019.
The Rockstar Games Launcher popped up on the scene two weeks ago, and the developer offered a free download of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas if players installed the dedicated launcher software. Whispers of a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port began to swirl in response to the sudden appearance of a PC launcher, but I’m sure whispers of ‘thanks’ and ‘that’s really generous of you, Rockstar Games’ were mingled in the mix.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that there would be ‘no downside’ to a PC version of the console exclusive rooting-tooting-cowboy-shooting sim, and then a Rockstar Games title ‘Bonaire’ was denied classification in Australia. ‘Bonaire’ didn’t appear on any other ratings agency boards, and speculation was roused that this was a DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Last week, the Australian Classifications Board rated Red Dead Redemption 2… for PC. This was left well alone by Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive… until today. I think I should use ellipses more often. So, without further ado, Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC on November 5th.
Special bonuses will be available to players who pre-order through the Rockstar Games Launcher. Pre-orders will offer a free upgrade to the Premium Edition of the game, and the Special Edition and Ultimate Edition will be discounted by $20 each. Players will also be gifted a cluster of bonuses like 50 Gold Bars for Red Dead Online, the Outlaw Survival Kit, and the Treasure Map for the single-player campaign.
From October 9 to October 22, a limited-time offer of two free titles for PC will be available for pre-order purchasers, including Bully: Scholarship Edition. System specs and screenshots for the PC version will be shared by Rockstar Games on October 9.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and is a launch title for Google Stadia. And, of course, it’s coming to PC on November 5.
