Rockstar has rolled out a fresh update for the Red Dead Online beta, which includes a new Fishing Challenge free roam event. This does exactly what it says on the tin: compete with other players to catch as many fish as possible.

That might not seem all that exciting, but you do get the option of selecting from Lakes, Rivers, and Swamps. You can get your hands on some fresh items for Red Dead Online's store too, such as the Gator Hat, Ortega Vest, Pelt Half Chaps, and Woodland Gloves.

Elsewhere, Rockstar has implemented a 30% XP boost for hunting animals, while the Fishing Care Package can be grabbed from the Post Office or lockbox at your camp. It features the following items: 5x Live Crickets, 1x River Lure, 1x Lake Lure, and 1x Swamp Lure.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last October, and Colm, unsurprisingly, loved it. The game was a massive success upon launch, and has shipped 23 million units as of early February.
