Sniper Elite developer Rebellion has confirmed that it's working on games for the Nintendo Switch, though don't expect it to churn out its back catalogue for the hybrid platform.

Speaking with VG247, Rebellion boss Jason Kingsley said that the Big N's latest hardware is 'really important' to the studio, though made it clear that due to the disparity in technical grunt between Switch and other formats, it won't be simply porting games across to the console.

'We are working on Switch titles. It’s a different power of machine, so you have to be a bit careful – it’s not as powerful as PS4 or the Xbox. We can’t just port our games onto Switch, you’ve gotta think of new and interesting ideas,' said Kingsley.

'One of the things we’ve been through is console change. We were on the first PlayStation, PS2, PS3, PS4. There’s always a new challenge. We make games very cost effectively. Our games sell half as well as the biggest games out there and that’s pretty damn good, but our games cost a tenth of what ours cost to make.'

Rebellion is currently beavering away on the Indiana Jones-flavoured Strange Brigade for PS4, PC, and Xbox One, with the game pencilled in for a release on August 28.
