Realm Royale is opening the doors for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users this week in the form of an Open Beta, Hi-Rez Studios has announced (via XBA).

Set in the Paladins universe, Realm Royale was previously available on consoles in the form of a Closed Beta, although this time around you won't need an invite code to get in on the action. Hi-Riz is also planning to roll out new content for the battle royale title throughout the year.

Much like most battle royale games, Realm Royale sees 100 players duking it out in a last-man-standing scenario complete with shrinking safe area and crafting. If you're taken out by another player you will transform into a chicken (eh?), forcing you to survive for a short period before you change back.

Realm Royale will enter Open Beta on January 22 for PS4 and Xbox One.
