Rainbow Six Siege’s closed multiplayer beta has been extended for a second time, Ubisoft has confirmed. The beta will now end on Sunday, October 4, having previously been due to close today, October 1.
It was originally due to end last Monday, September 28.
Additional keys are to be sent out to current participants, too, to let players invite friends who may not have had the chance to give the shooter a try.
The decision to extend the beta follows ongoing technical problems with the game’s matchmaking, which has prevented some players from joining multiplayer matches successfully. Ubisoft originally said that players would have a 60% chance of finding a game, but after going hands-on with the PS4 beta earlier this week, the success rate actually appeared to be far lower.
Access issues have been “mostly resolved” since, however, Ubisoft claims, with an average wait time of 30-45 seconds. Terrorist Hunt, meanwhile, apparently now has a 96% success rate.
Furthermore, a double XP event will begin tomorrow afternoon offering players the chance to unlock additional operators, attachments and skins.
“Thank you again for your participation, your patience, and your support,” Ubisoft wrote in its latest update. “We appreciate your collaboration with us in this testing period, and know that your input helps us improve the experience for all in the finished product. The Rainbow Six community has always been very important to us, and we look forward to being with you all long after launch as we continue to support and iterate on the game. “
