Last year’s Rainbow Six Lockdown was quite a departure for the series and suffered because of it. Critical Hour is said to be a return to the series’ roots, bringing back the deep strategic gameplay that made the series so popular in the first place. The new game will feature a seven-mission single-player campaign and sixteen multiplayer levels.

Classic missions from the original Rainbow Six and Rouge Spear make a comeback with enhanced visuals, and the Persistent Elite Creation mode (one of the only good features of Lockdown) returns to the online game. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Critical Hour is due for Xbox and PlayStation 2 this spring and according to Ubisoft it will ship at an “attractive price.”
