The latest game in the Silent Hill franchise has been re-titled Silent Hill: Downpour, according to info from Game Informer.

Details are still scarce, but the magazine’s website does reveal that fans should expect plenty of water.

“It’s falling from the sky! It’s running from the ceiling! It’s in puddles on the ground! If you’re hydrophobic, you’re probably already drying your pants in terror,” states Game Informer.

More info is promised in the February issue of the magazine.

The game’s coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.

The only high definition Silent Hill to date is Silent Hill: Homecoming – released in Europe in February 2009 – which, though a decent entry in the series, failed to offer anything new.

The new game has been put into the hands of Czech based Vatra Games and fans will be hoping they can deliver a horror experience up there with the more recent Shattered Memories from Clilmax.
