Ubisoft has announced that its next instalment in the Rabbids franchise, Rabbids Go Home, will be released on Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi in addition to Wii in holiday 2009.

The Nintendo handheld version will feature the same storyline as the Wii game. Those crazy Rabbids have an infallible plan: collect all the human stuff they can find, heap it onto a giant pile and literally climb home to the moon. It won’t be easy though. The Humans revolt, unleashing the Verminators whose only objective is to exterminate the Rabbids.

The gameplay experience will, however, be unique to the DS. Players will need to solve a variety of puzzles and brain teasers in an effort to collect as much stuff as they can. The game will feature 150 puzzles based on physics and funny Rabbids characters.

Additionally, players will be able to compete in four challenge modes, each featuring 20 levels from the story mode with different rules and objectives. The DS version will also feature a level editor, allowing players to create their own puzzles and share them with friends via the Rabbids Go Home community.

Furthermore, DSi gamers will be able to use the handheld’s camera to take a picture and customise it with funny Rabbid animations.

Rabbids Go Home for Nintendo DS is scheduled to release holiday 2009.
