Ubisoft and Aardman, creators of Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit, have announced a partnership to create a TV pilot and several shorts based on Ubisoft's Rabbids characters.

The Rabbids have already transcended video games, appearing in viral videos on the internet, becoming plush toys and appearing in award-winning ads for brands including Renault and Coca-Cola.

Miles Bullough, head of broadcast at Aardman, said: "When the opportunity arose to work with Ubisoft on the Rabbids we leapt at it, we absolutely love the characters and can't wait to help bring them to a television audience."

The latest game to star the loveable critters, Raving Rabbids Travel in Time, is scheduled to launch on November 26 for Wii.
