Quantum Break has become the “biggest selling, new Microsoft Studios IP this generation”, Microsoft has announced, outselling the likes of Sunset Overdrive, Screamride and Ryse: Son of Rome.

Remedy’s third-person shooter launched on Xbox One and PC last Tuesday, April 5, landing at the top of the UK All-Formats Charts. But despite its success, only 139 units separated it from No.2 game DiRT Rally, Eurogamer reports.

Actual sales figures for the game have not been revealed. It also isn’t clear how the game has fared against some of Microsoft Studios’ other existing IPs like Halo and Forza Motorsport.

“We’re delighted that Quantum Break has been so well received by fans and critics, it’s a testament to the hard work, ambition and commitment of the team at Remedy that the game is already surpassing expectations,” said Xbox Studios’ senior category manager Jon Edney. “The game has already built up a passionate fanbase and we look forward to seeing and hearing about their experiences in Riverport.”

UPDATE: A Microsoft spokesperson has clarified that this is a week one sales comparison. Opening week sales of Quantum Break do not exceed, for example, total sales of Sunset Overdrive.
