Bethesda has announced that QuakeCon 2011 will run from August 4-7, at The Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas. The event is open to the public and attendance is free.

Traditionally QuakeCon has been about id Software showcasing new technology and the attendees taking part in large LAN parties. Now, with id under the Bethesda blanket, expect new info from related studios such as Arkane Studios, Tango Gameworks and Bethesda Softworks.

Top of our wanted list is a first look at Doom 4, although demos of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Rage are also likely.

If Doom 4 isn’t at this year’s QuakeCon we’ll be very disappointed. We wouldn’t be surprised if Bethesda also uses the event to announce and showcase DLC for the then released Brink – hitting stores on May 20. Maybe id will also show some early work on the NGP and 3DS.
