Push Me Pull You, a new two-on-two sports game from Australian indie studio House House, will launch for PS4 early in 2016. A PC version will also launch next year.

The game’s main hook is that players on each team are joined together, forming a stretchy body which must be used to gain control of a ball.

“A game of Push Me Pull You consists of a big frantic mess of growing, shrinking, and stretching bodies, driven by our fluid, physics-based movement system,” explains studio director Michael McMaster. “Since you can’t just pick up the ball with the press of a button, you’ll need to use your shared body to scoop it up and carry it, or wrap around it to protect it, or push it away so that your opponent can’t reach it, and so on. These freeform tactics evolve through consecutive games as players invent their own strategies and counter-strategies, resulting in an expressive system of play and a deceptively high skill ceiling.”

The game will feature a character creation tool, a host of gameplay modes, and an explorable space accessed between matches.

Although originally designed as a two-on-two experience with four controllers, House House has also included a controller sharing control scheme, meaning one team can utilise a single DualShock.

Look out for the game early next year, and be sure to check the trailer below.
