Pure Chess will release on PlayStation 4 this Wednesday, April 16 priced £4.99, developer VooFoo Studios has announced.

The chess simulation promises to make great use of the PS4’s power, improving the visuals from top to bottom compared to the PS3 version. The game runs in 1080p at 60 frames per second, and also boasts double the texture sizes, extra layers of post-processing, contact shadows, and depth-of-field for greater realism.

Behind the scenes the custom networking system is said to have been improved to enable a “much slicker online experience”.

Those really into chess can also opt for the Complete Bundle which includes all DLC for £9.99. Look out for discounts for PS Plus members too.
