The developer behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has slapped a new name on its upcoming Savage map: It's now known as Sanhok.

Fun fact: The name was partly inspired by the Thai word for 'fun' and the Filipino word for 'chicken.'

The latter is rather appropriate, as PUBG is a game that hands out pretend chicken dinners to those who emerge victorious in its 100-player battle royale matchup. So yeah, a match made in heaven right there.

If that wasn't exciting enough, PUBG Corp. also confirmed that Sanhok is rolling out in the next few months, and will be available to play in an open beta test later this week. The teaser is up for grabs to anyone who has a copy of the game on PC, and kicks off on Thursday, May 10 at 7.00pm PDT.

PUBG Corp. has been busy with its can of bug spray on the Xbox One version of the battle royale title, with update 13 stomping down on a few lingering issues. The developer has also been bringing its boot down on hackers as of late, with its latest efforts resulting in the arrest of 15 suspects in China.
