The developer behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has revealed it plans on jazzing up the shooter's Erangel map.

Writing in a new post, PUBG Corp. acknowledged the importance of both loot balancing and map layout, which is why it's looking to remaster the game's battlezones. It's been busy testing this internally with compounds, although there's more changes in the pipeline.

The post comes in wake of a number of leaks that have been cropping up on PUBG's subreddit in the past week or so. The images not only showcased a slightly different layout, but also the addition of compounds and extra drop locations for tier three loot.

'We understand that loot balance is a very important part of the game but also recognize that the map layout is just as important, so we’re working hard to ensure that any changes made to either will feel good when completed,' said the studio.

That's about all PUBG Corp. would share on the matter, but we'll be sure to keep you in the loop on any further details.
