The developer of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds PUBG Corp has revealed the first footage of the previously announced visual updates to PUBG's oldest map.

In a blog post, the developer has shown off some of the improvements and tweaks that have been made to the Erangel map, and revealed that the new version of the map will go live on the PC test servers from today, June 6, along with some tweaks to the Blue Zone.

The changes are to help the long-tenured map ' feel more up-to-date based on emerging playstyles and tactics' and will include timings being faster for the zone, and the size, speed and damage tweaked in different phases. These tweaks will be adjusted throughout the test period based on feedback.

The first phase of testing begins today and will last until June 8 – during that time, only the new updated version of the Erangel map will be available, and games will only be able to be created by a list of selected 'partners' as listed on the announcement's blog post, but anyone with the test client will be able to join the lobbys created by those players. Then the second phase will begin on June 8 through to June 11, at which point all players can partipcate.

The update is set to come to live servers for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 'by late summer' this year, and PUBG Corp promise more information on exactly when at a later date. Here's a video showing off some of the map's visual changes below:
