Double Fine Productions is gearing up for the launch of Psychonauts 2 with a series of ‘Basic Braining” videos introducing us to the game’s world and characters, kicking off with The Interns.

The Interns are a group of new recruits at the Psychonauts HQ who are also training up to become fully fledged agents. The supporting cast include sisters Norma and Lizzie who can control ice and fire with their psychic abilities. There’s also Sam Boole, sister of the first game’s squirrel-botherer, Dogen Boole.

While it seems these new comrades will at first be a little hostile to hero Raz, giving the new recruit a bit of a hazing, they’ll soon find themselves thrust together as part of the game’s overarching mystery. Other characters you’ll meet include engineering expert Gisu who loves their skateboard and winds up teaching you rail grinding. Then there’s levitation expert Morris who’s also starting a pirate radio station in the Motherlode. Finally Adam Getty is the keeper of the Psychonauts history, and looks like he’ll be offering up a fair amount of lore and exposition in your adventure.

You can check out the Psychonauts 2 video introducing the Interns for yourself below. Psychonauts 2 recently went gold, which means you’ll be able to play the game on August 25. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and also will be available on launch via Xbox Game Pass.
