Sony is widely distributing PSP2 development kits across the industry to a number of key studios, reports Develop.
Multiple industry sources have told the publication that Sony is aiming for a “significant launch window line-up”. This backs up reports from earlier in the year claiming that both third-party and in-house studios were privy to the hardware.
The only named studio with a PSP2 dev kit is Warner’s Netherrealm Studios, the home of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Executive producer Shaun Himmerick recently told IndustryGamers that his studio “has a PSP2 in the house”.
Develop also states that the PSP2 is set for release in 2011.
