Sony has announced that its PSP GPS system Go! Explore is to be released across Europe in the spring and will be available in three packages: €119 for the GPS receiver and software UMD, €149 for an additional car mount and €299 for all the GPS kit plus a PSP.

Go! Explore will double as a handheld navigation device for when on-foot and an in-car unit for getting around on roads.

Sony is also promising new maps and upgrades which will be available from the PSN, which should mean new roads and such won’t cause too many problems. Initially available map packs will include UK/Ireland, France, Germany/Austria/Switzerland, Spain/Portugal, Italy and Nordic.

“Who would have previously thought that PSP owners would be able to use PSP to navigate their way around an unfamiliar city? It’s an awesome product and another testament to the unrivalled potential of PSP,” said Stephane Hareau, PSP Senior Brand Manager at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
