UK sales of DiRT 3 have shown that most purchases were made on Xbox 360, however Codemasters has stated this isn’t a result of the prolonged PSN downtime.

Speaking to Eurogamer today, a spokesperson for Codemasters said: “PSN hasn’t had a hugely adverse effect on sales.”

The publisher also stated that a 60-40 split was expected. In reality this split was 63 per cent to Xbox 360 and 37 per cent to PS3.

The game came in second this week on the All Formats UK Video Game Chart after Rockstar’s L.A. Noire.

While it’s been rumoured that PS3 users have been switching over to Xbox since the PSN issues began late last month, it’s not necessarily known whether there really is a correlation between this and DiRT 3’s sales.
