Assassin’s Creed is one of the most iconic video game franchises that will seemingly never end. This year we were treated to Shadows, and it was another fun open-world installment based in Japan and in a mold similar to Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins. We know there are more games in-development at Ubisoft, and a PSN dataminer suggests a new Assassin’s Creed might be revealed soon, although it’s “not Hexe for sure”.

PSN dataminer teases new Assassin’s Creed announcement

PlayStationSize is a reliable dataminer who typically shares the download file sizes of games from the PSN store along with their respective preload date. They don’t typically share leaks, but PlayStationSize has seemingly teased an upcoming announcement for a new Assassin’s Creed.

On X, the dataminer posted the new key “PPSA28183_00” and inferred that it is for AC. Responding to users, PlayStationSize ruled out it being DLC for Shadows.

While the dataminer is suggesting it could be a new Assassin’s Creed, they said it is “not Hexe for sure”. Hexe is the codename of the next mainline AC installment rumored to be based in Germany while also depicting the European witch hunts during 1561-1670.

If it’s not Hexe, PlayStationSize suggests it could possibly be Invictus. This codenamed AC installment is a multiplayer game reportedly inspired by Fall Guys.

Away from Invictus, the only other possibility is seemingly the heavily rumored Black Flag remake. This has been hinted at by Edward Kenway’s voice actor, and it was leaked by Insider Gaming back in 2024.

Hopefully an announcement of a new Assassin’s Creed comes soon. There’s the possibility it could occur at Gamescom 2025, but nothing is official. We’d love it to be the Black Flag Remake, but Invictus might be the more likely as Tom Henderson has suggested it is internally planned for 2025.
