Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that PlayStation 4 has flogged an impressive 91.6 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2018.

Speaking during its latest financial results, the hardware behemoth revealed that PS4 shifted 5.6 million PS4s over the 2018 holiday season, while 50.7 million games were sold during the same period.

That brings the total number of software sold on Sony's home console to 876 million, which has taken just over five years. Speaking of games, Sony also revealed that Spider-Man has now drummed up over nine million copies sold as of November 25, 2018.

SIE president and CEO, John Kodera also revealed that 'the montly active users of PlayStation Network continues to show strong growth, and has surpassed 90 million as of end of November 2018.'

The PS4 has a couple of notable exclusives up its sleeves for 2019, including Dreams and Days Gone. Interestingly enough, the format holder will not be attending E3 this year.
