The PlayStation 3 isn’t even in stores, and yet it’s already taking home awards. At the recent Japan Game Awards 2006 hosted at Tokyo Game Show, awards in the Future category were handed out to Heavenly Sword, Gran Turismo HD, and The Eye of Judgement. Shadow of the Colossus for the PlayStation 2 won an Award for Excellence in the Game of the Year category.

We are honoured to receive four CESA awards, and are particularly pleased to receive recognition for our PlayStation 3 titles, even before the platform has launched,” said Phil Harrison, President, SCE Worldwide Studios.

The PlayStation 3 goes on sale in Japan on November 11, followed in North America on November 17, and then sometime around March 2007 in Europe.
