Last week, Insomniac Games boss Ted Price revealed that Resistance: Fall of Man will not utilise the central buddy list provided by the PS3 online system, instead relying on a game specific system. This information, along with much secrecy over the PS3 online functionality, suggested that more than one online ID would be required for your PS3 online gaming – perhaps one per game.

This, it appears, was just a misunderstanding. According to the UK producer of Resistance, Dan Brooke, “There is no separate login for Resistance and the online ID you create will be the same you use for all titles.

So, whilst online gamers will need to create multiple buddy lists, only one online ID will be required to sign into your online games. The PS3’s online implementation is still sounding some way short of the system wide integration offered by Xbox Live.

Resistance: Fall of Man will launch alongside the PS3 on November 11 in Japan, and on November 17 in North America.
