SCEE has today confirmed that its five disc-based launch titles will carry a recommended retail price of £39.99. This includes MotorStorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, Genji: Days of the Blade, Ridge Racer 7 and formula One Championship Edition.

Pricing for titles available to download from the PlayStation Network, such as BlastFactor, flow, Super Rub a Dub and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection will be priced between â¬2.99 to â¬9.99 for an introductory period.

Pricing for first-party premium content will be based on a sliding scale, beginning at â¬0.99 and increasing depending on the scope of the product. As examples, a new SingStar track wouldn’t set you back too much cash, while a pack for MotorStorm which offers a new track, more vehicles and new multiplayer modes would cost a lot more.

Not only will it be completely free to register on the PlayStation Network with no subscription fees and access to many free demos, but with these competitive prices for additional content we are able to offer the consumer both top quality games on Blu-ray discs and a whole range of downloadable content from the PlayStation Network. With over 30 first and third party disc and network games available at launch, we are confident that this will be one of the most successful launches of all time,” commented David Reeves, President and CEO of SCEE.

The PlayStation 3 will launch across Europe on March 23.
