PlayStation Vita will be able to Remote Play all PlayStation 3 games when a future firmware update for the home console is released, reports Eurogamer.

Existing PS3 games would be playable on Vita at a resolution of 480×272 – the same resolution as the current PSP. This image would then be scaled to fill the Vita’s 960×544 screen.

However, future titles developed with Remote Play in mind will support 480p Remote Play, which is a considerable improvement over the older service.

Sony has declined to comment.

The biggest issue with PS3/Vita Remote Play is the PS3 DualShock 3 buttons which are missing from the Vita. In a TGS demo featuring Killzone 3 the missing buttons were mapped to the Vita’s touch screen, but we’re unconvinced this will be adequate in all cases.
