Sony’s PS Vita continues to ride high after its Japanese price cut, this week taking the hardware No.1 spot ahead of Nintendo’s 3DS.

Vita sold 63,581 units in the week ended March 10, up around 1,000 units over the previous week. This can be attributed to the recent price cut and the popularity of new release Soul Sacrifice. The Keiji Inafune action game charted at No.2 with 92,396 copies, but would actually easily claim the No.1 if the double pack sales (22,050 which translates to 44,100 copies) were added to the total.

3DS hardware sales dropped from 77,439 units to 61,008 units.

Elsewhere in the Japanese chart Far Cry 3 on PS3 is new at No.7 with 33,281 copies sold, whilst Crysis 3 takes 16th place with 9,602 copies shifted on PS3.

Soul Sacrifice comes to Europe on May 1.
