Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation, a PS Vita exclusive, will launch this October alongside the console and PC sequel, GameInformer has revealed (via NeoGAF.
Liberation takes place in New Orleans and features female assassin Aveline. The action unfolds between 1765 and 1780 following the end of the French war.
The magazine states the game will offer “true Assassin’s Creed gameplay,” but fans won’t get another chapter in the Desmond storyline – someone else is making use of the Animus in this game.
Vita players can also look forward to platform specific multiplayer, with the Vita’s touch screens used to pick pockets.
Liberation star Aveline will also meet AC3’s hero Connor at some point in the game.
Ubisoft Sofia is handling development.
