In commemoration of the PS Plus Festival of Play, the popular video game service is holding a free multiplayer weekend that will allow players to compete with others online for free.

This means that you won’t need to be subscribed to PS Plus to enjoy multiplayer titles during this time. To help you prepare for it, we’ll be providing the start date for the free weekend so join us as we dissect the latest PlayStation celebration below.
PS Plus Free Weekend Start Date
The PS Plus Free Weekend begins on February 18 and will end a day later on February 19. During this time, you’ll be able to participate in multiplayer modes for any PS4 or PS5 title for free as long as it has online functionality.

According to the official blog post, members of the PlayStation Stars service will also be able to “earn a special digital collectible commemorating the online multiplayer weekend” by simply joining the event.
During the same weekend, players will also be able to participate in PlayStation Tournaments for various titles even without a subscription. Some of the games that will be holding competitions include FIFA 23, NBA 2K23, and Guilty Gear Strive.
Additionally, those who join in will have the chance to win a 3-month PlayStation Plus voucher. Tournaments will apparently be available during the afternoon and evening of your local time so tune in to official channels for the latest announcements.
From February 15 to February 24, PlayStation users will also be given the opportunity to win a Sony gaming setup by entering a contest. Prizes that the potential winner can get include the Sony Bravia XR OLED 55A75K TV, Dolby Atmos Soundbar HT-A5000, and a Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones.
