Another month means another bunch of free games for subscribers of the PS Plus Essential tier, and it seems a reliable leaker has unveiled what will be on offer in May.

PlayStation has now officially confirmed the earlier leak – meaning that GRID Legends, Chivalry 2 and Descenders will all be playable for subscribers to the service on the Essential Tier from May 2, 2023.

The games – as per the PlayStation Blog – will include GRID Legends, the 2022 Codemasters racing game with an all-star cast including future Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa. Featuring a story mode inspired by racing documentaries such as Netflix’s Drive to Survive, you play as the latest recruit to Seneca Racing as they enter the prestigious GRID World Series.

The information was first leaked by user billbil-kun, a user on the Dealabs website who regularly and accurately has leaked the games on offer ahead of the official announcement.

The other two games available this month include multiplayer medieval warfare offering Chivalry 2, and mountain biking score challenge Descenders – all three games look to be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and are decent additions to any gamer’s library.

All three games should be live on the Essential tier from Tuesday, May 2, as that’s when the previous set of games which included Meet Your Maker, Tales of Iron and Sackboy A Big Adventure are set to depart the service.

Just last week, PlayStation launched a new set of games onto the PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra tiers for April 2023 that included Kena Bridge of Spirits, Wolfenstein 2 and Riders Republic.
