Koei Tecmo has announced it’s remastering 2014 horror title Project Zero: Maiden of  Black Water for modern consoles and PC later this year.

The game puts you in the shoes of Yuri Kozukata, a girl cursed with the ability to see the supernatural. Venturing out to Mt Hikami on the trail of several missing people, she soon stumbles upon the series’ infamous Camera Obscura that takes pictures of restless spirits. It’s up to Yuri and friends Ren Hojo and Miu Hinaski to explore the mountain with only the camera and a flashlight to protect them against the vengeful ghosts.

The publisher is re-releasing the game to mark the 20th anniversary of the Project Zero series, known as Fatal Frame in the US. In addition to the enhanced graphics, expect a new Photo Mode with new costumes also promised for the game’s protagonists.

In our original review when the game released for the Wii U, Tom Orry said: “Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is an old-school horror game with a dash of something new. If you’re bored of relentless jump scares in horror games, you’ll probably get a nice kick out of this paranormal adventure.”

Check out the trailer below. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water comes to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC later in 2021.
