Currently only confirmed for release in North America, although both titles are out now in Japan, Project Sylpheed and Vampire Rain should offer up some much needed gaming fodder over the traditionally barren summer release period.

Project Sylpheed is a 3D makeover of the classic ’80s scrolling shooter franchise, developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 by Game Arts and Seta Corporation. The game launches players through more than 50 space combat missions as the pilot of a Delta Saber space fighter.

If space action isn’t your thing then how about some stealth action in Vampire Rain from Artoon? The game sees players lead a highly-trained black-ops unit on a secret mission to eliminate the deadliest supernatural enemies ever faced: the Nightwalkers. The game will also feature Xbox Live support.

At the moment there’s no word on a European release for either title, but it’s highly likely we’ll see them at some point this summer.
