Over on the 3D Realms website, Human Head’s Prey Project Lead Chris Rhinehart has been detailing some of the changes and fixes coming in the imminent v1.1 Patch. As well as fixing a lot of bugs, the patch will also enable widescreen resolutions to be set from the game menu, and resolve a multiplayer weapon exploit.
The Xbox 360 version, in the hands of venom, is also to receive a patch – notably to address the rather bad lag issues that currently plague the online multiplayer. There’s no ETA on either of the patches, but Rhinehart says they should be out very soon.
There’s also new content on its way, including four new maps specifically designed to work well for smaller groups of 2-4 players. The new content will also include six new characters: four females (Jen, Elhuit, Mother, and Becky), and two Hunter characters (Hunter and Elite Hunter). Work is ongoing with the new content, so there’s no ETA for this either. The content will also be coming to the Xbox 360, although at this time it’s not been decided whether or not players will be charged Microsoft points.
