SEGA Europe has today announced that Football Manager 2008, the latest instalment in the long-running and hugely successful football management series, will be released for PC (Vista and XP) and Mac before Christmas 2007.

Sports Interactive has once again updated the game for a new season, not only with the most up-to-date player and club data, but also with a host of improvements and hundreds of new features.

This year’s game will feature over 5,000 playable teams from over 50 countries, with players able to select their favourite club or international team and guide them to glory in leagues, cups, European Championships and major international tournaments.

With over 100 new features, there’s too many to detail here, but one such new addition is the advisory system which will help new players through the different aspects of the game. This should make Football Manager 2008 much more accessible to newcomers, without the need to dumb down the game and put off seasoned FM pros.

Other new features include completely revamped international management, and something Sports Interactive is calling Match Flow – described as the largest change to match-day in a SI game since the introduction of the second match engine. Match Flow has been designed to bring more atmosphere to match-days with match previews, team talks, opposition player instructions and the match itself now seamlessly following on from one another.

Football Manager 2008 for PC Apple Mac is set for release before Christmas 2007.
