A Polish retailer has allegedly broken the Resident Evil 6 street date - over a month before the game officially goes on sale.

According to Polish website NeoGo, the site was able to purchase a PS3 copy of the game from a store in the Polish city of Poznan.

The website posted images of what it claims to be the disc, box and manual, as well as a pair of in-game screenshots.

The site also says it will post up video "soon" to back up its claims.

Capcom announced that Resident Evil 6 had gone gold last week. Having the game go on sale a week later, however, probably wasn't a part of the publisher's plans...

Resident Evil 6 officially goes on sale on October 2.
