The Pokémon Company is about to kick off a new Pokémon Presents presentation to offer up some news and updates on the hugely popular series.

As per the official Pokémon Twitter account, the broadcast will take place at 6am PDT/2pm BST on August 8 and feature “35 minutes of Pokémon news and updates” – but intriguingly, the attached video had a bit of a twist from the norm. The logo sparked in a glowing purple neon font, highlighting the letter M with some glitching before showing the usual splash card. It’s not known what this is specifically in reference to yet, although the neon signs could point at something Detective Pikachu related.

Of course, Detective Pikachu 2 AKA Detective Pikachu Returns was re-revealed just a few months back during the summer Nintendo Direct show. That game will be arriving on Nintendo Switch in October, so it’s almost a gimmie we’ll be getting more news on that during the show. Another fairly confident prediction will be an update on the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. That’ll be releasing in two parts, with The Teal Mask arriving in Fall 2023 followed by The Indigo Disk in Winter 2023, so more information on those is almost certain.

As for what else could be revealed, fans are wondering if more remakes could be on the cards following 2021’s Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. But on top of that, there’s also of course plenty of other Pokémon things to talk about, including the Trading Card Game and mobile hits Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon Go. Luckily, we don’t have long to find out.
