It may seem like Pokemon Go isn't quite as ubiqutous in the news as it was upon launch a couple of years ago, but a report from data company Superdata reports that the mobile title actually managed to obtain its highest number of active players ever in the last month.

According to the report (as spotted by Eurogamer) exact numbers are not disclosed, but the game reportedly generated $104 million dollars in May 2018, an increase of 174% year-on-year.

The news comes not long after Niantic Labs updated the mobile title adding a long-requested in-game friends feature alongside trading and gifts.

In related news, Pokemon Quest – the free-to-play game revealed and released on Switch at E3 makes its way to Android and iOS as of today. The next Pokemon titles to release should be Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, which will land on Nintendo Switch on November 16.
