Pokemon Go players are being warned against using the augmented reality catch-em all app when visiting the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, reports the BBC.
A spokesman for the museum said that it is “extremely inappropriate” to play Pokemon Go when inside a memorial to victims of Nazism.
Pokemon Go features the museum as a landmark and as such can be home to the highly sought after Pokemon. It is also reported to be a Pokestop, meaning players can collect items including Pokemon snacks and medicine.
Officials for the museum are believed to be seeking to get it removed from the game.
Although yet to run into any issues, the nearby Arlington National Cemetery is also taking steps to stop Pokemon hunters.
“Playing games such as Pokemon Go on these hallowed grounds would not be deemed appropriate,” cemetery officials said in a statement.
