Nintendo has confirmed (via ONM) that Pokémon Black and White will be launching in the UK on March 4, two days before it makes its way to the US (but six months after it was released in Japan).

Pokémon Black and White adds seasonal cycles and 156 new Pokémon to the mix, bringing the overall count to something like sixty million. The evil group of villains are now known as Team Plasma, too – whatever happened to Team Rocket? It’s clear we’ve been out of the loop for far too long.

The two games have already gone down well in Japan, shifting a whopping combined 4.91 million copies in 2010.

Black and White is the first real Pokémon sequel since 2007’s Diamond and Pearl. Last year’s HeartGold and SoulSilver were jazzed up pedometer-enabled versions of Gold and Silver, but that didn’t stop them reaching a milestone of 10 million copies sold worldwide in July last year.
