A new Diablo 4 Christmas event has been leaked by the PlayStation Store ahead of its official announcement. Coming on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the new “Slay Ride to Hell” event will bring Christmas to Sanctuary just after the end of the recent Midwinter Blight event.

Leaked Diablo 4 Christmas event

Discovered by players via a PlayStation Store notification on the Sony console, the new unannounced Diablo 4 Christmas event is designed to run until the end of December 2024. While many assumed the Midwinter Blight event would serve as this year’s Christmas celebration, Blizzard is bringing a proper holiday celebration to the ARPG.

After the disappointing Halloween event, it seems that Blizzard is going all out for the game’s upcoming Christmas event. From December 17th to December 31st, the event will give players a chance to nab some bonus cosmetics.

According to players who were accidentally served the announcement by PlayStation, the Slay Ride to Hell event will include a “Goblin community event with tier rewards (1-5) and possible free shop cosmetics from 3-5.”

Unfortunately, Blizzard has yet to officially announce the new Diablo 4 Christmas event at the time of writing. It’s unknown exactly what content will be added for the Slay Ride to Hell event, but it seems to be a basic goblin hunting task with some easy daily rewards. After all, it’s essentially a Christmas gift for players.

With Path of Exile 2 now out and available for all, there’s an even bigger incentive for Blizzard to continue pumping out more events for the latest Diablo title. After some controversy for pitching the ARPG genre to be renamed to “Diablo-like”, the developer is still hard at work on crafting new experiences for the game.
