It appears that PlayStation is welcoming two studios into the fold today as it’s emerged that Bluepoint Games is also joining PlayStation Studios.
The revelation came as a result of today’s earlier announcement of the acquisition of Returnal developers Housemarque. As was noted by industry insider Nibellion on Twitter, the PlayStation Japan Twitter account tweeted out the announcement but appeared to attach the wrong artwork. While it was very similar to the correct one, this one showed the logo of Demon Souls‘ remake developers Bluepoint Games.
Of course, it’s another partnership that makes a lot of sense. Bluepoint has worked on several PlayStation remakes over the years, including the God of War Collection for PlayStation 3 back in 2009, the PlayStation 4’s Shadow of the Colossus remake in 2018 and the aforementioned Demon’s Souls remake which released at the PlayStation 5’s launch.
