Microsoft has confirmed that ostentatious actioner Just Cause 3 is going free to play this weekend as part of the Xbox Live Gold Free Play Days initiative.
Xbox One owners can get their paws on Avalanche Studio's explosive open-world title from May 3 – 6, where you'll be able to step into the shoes of hero Rico Rodriguez as liberates the island of Medici by generally laying waste to everything in his path. From rudimentary firearms such as pistols and shotguns to more outlandish grenade launchers and rocket-equipped choppers, Just Cause 3's sandbox offers all manner of creative ways to rain down destruction upon your foes.
In addition to being able to carry over your progress to the full game if you decide to buy it, you'll also be able to snag up to 80% off Just Cause 3 and 75% off the Land, Sea & Air Expansion pass during the free trial.
Just Cause 3 was originally released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in December 2015, although it didn't exactly blow us away.
