With the stock shortages of the Wii and Xbox 360 still fresh in the minds of gamers across the UK, many will fear the worst when attempting to secure a launch day PlayStation 3. However, the quest for a PS3 needn’t be an ordeal.

Play.com has announced that as long as pre-orders for the PS3 on its site remain open they will be able to get the console to you for launch. The retailer will close pre-orders once its launch allocation has been reached meaning there should be no upset gamers come March 23.

There is a slight catch though. Consumers buying from Play.com will have to opt for a three game bundle which includes MotorStorm, Resistance: Fall of Man and Geni. The package comes in at a wallet shrinking £524.99. Play.com will also throw in a free HMDI cable.

We have been working hard with Sony to make sure that we can deliver every pre-order on the release date,” said Play.com head of the games Gian Luzio. “We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the service they expect from Play.com.

The PlayStation 3 will launch across Europe on March 23 and is expected to have a line-up of 30 games from day one.
