The Darksiders franchise is currently without a home after failing to be sold off during yesterday’s THQ assets auction, but the fantasy action series isn’t without admirers.

Overnight, Platinum Games executive director and producer Atsushi Inaba tweeted his interest in the franchise.

“Oh man in THQ’s big sale it looks like nobody’s bought Darksiders … I’d love to buy that (if it was cheap),” he Tweeted in Japanese.

With no buyer found for Darksiders, staff at developer Vigil are now out of work.

“Some assets, including our publishing businesses and Vigil, along with some other intellectual properties are not included in the sale agreements. They will remain part of the Chapter 11 case. We will make every effort to find appropriate buyers, if possible,” wrote CEO Brian Farrell and president Jason Rubin in a letter sent to THQ’s former employees.

It’s not clear what Platinum Games would do with the Darksiders franchise, but it would be great to see what the studio behind Bayonetta and Vanquish could do with the IP.
