Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 is still planned to release later this year, sometime after the release of Borderlands 4. With a PC release date planned sometime after—simply because Rockstar can do that—console players are already planning to move on immediately to the new game.
As the vast majority of players aim to switch from the California parody of Los Santos over to the Miami-like Vice City, gamers are planning “one last drive” within GTA Online to celebrate a decade-plus of Rockstar’s open-world game.
GTA V players plan one last drive before GTA 6
Shared on the GTA subreddit, fans are planning one final lap around Los Santos in GTA Online. Starting in the city, players are planning a marathon road trip around the entire game map, going all the around Mount Chilliad, way up to Paleto Bay and back down in a big loop.
While the drive does miss some of the most iconic GTA V locations—such as the airport, the military base, the observatory and more, it is a cute way of celebrating Rockstar’s latest Grand Theft Auto game with other players.
Of course, there is the one issue with planning a last drive in Grand Theft Auto 5: griefers. Especially since the release of VTOLs and orbital lasers, it’s more difficult than ever to do anything nice in a public lobby without some one blowing you up.
“It would be kinda cool if players all did a run together at the end. Like certain consoles at a certain time,” one fan replied. “But it can’t work because… griefers.”
Additionally, some fans believe there doesn’t need to be one last drive in the open-world game because they’re not planning on abandoning it as soon as GTA 6 releases. It also helps that PC players can’t abandon it for the new game for, probably, an additional year. Even then, roleplay servers and huge mods won’t be available on launch.
